Fat is an option.

I saw a post on Facebook the other day that started with “Fat is not an option”, well yeah, it sort of is an option. In fact I’ll go as far to say it’s not sort of an option, it is an option. Worse than that, as I look around my local town it appears to be an option more people are taking every year. If you are one of the growing number of people who are overweight but don’t suffer from Hypothyroidism it is all down to the choices you made. If you get up in the morning and catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror and think you need to lose weight but don’t do anything about it. Then you have chosen the fat option. If a typical day for you starts with an unhealthy breakfast, goes on to an unhealthy midday meal and unhealthy evening meal with numerous cups of tea or coffee with milk and sugar throughout the day. Followed by an evening of sitting in front of the TV shoving crisps, chocolate, cake and alcohol down your throat while moaning you don’t have the physique you had in your teens, then you have chosen the fat option. You are the one who decides to sit in front of the TV and not exercise. You are the one who decides to eat everything you eat. You can’t blame anyone but yourself and if you don’t make an effort, the only thing that will change is your weight. It will continue to increase over time.

So what can you do? If you do nothing you just get bigger so you need to make changes in order for you to lose weight. Of course you probably know to lose weight you have to burn more energy than you take. Eat less, move more as the saying goes. The first step on the weight loss journey has to be to recognise you are where you are because of your choices in the past. Own it, accept it, and then decide. Stay sat on your backside eating or make the changes you need for a healthier, slimmer and sexier look.
